The events in “The Gate of Initiation,” insofar as they relate to the spiritual world as soul events, are entirely inner soul experiences of Johannes Thomasius. The events of the physical world that occur in the painting are only those that are related to these inner soul experiences. Nothing is depicted from such outer events that does not find its spiritual continuation in the inner soul processes of Johannes Thomasius. At the end of the “Gate of Initiation,” Johannes has progressed so far on his soul journey that, of the three stages of spiritual-soul experience of reality, the first, the world of real imagination in its essence and in its relationship to spiritual reality, is transparent to him.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"Subsequent Remarks","site_heading":null,"date":null,"location":null,"word_count":189,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/44/14/p002","alignment_confidence":"medium","alignment_reason":"beads:structural_identity","two_voice_volume":false,"translation_credit":{"scope":"unit","status":"established","translator":"Steiner Online Library","identified_edition":null,"book_title":null,"publisher":null,"publisher_inferred":false,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Articles/GA044/English/Awaken_14.html","evidence":"lecture_page_line"},"edition_coverage":{"de":["original"],"en":["English"]},"available_versions":[{"lang":"de","edition":"original","edition_basis":null,"is_original":true,"is_default_edition":true,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/de/ga/44/14/p002"},{"lang":"en","edition":"English","edition_basis":null,"is_original":false,"is_default_edition":true,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/44/14/p002","paragraph_aligned":true}],"german_anchor":{"de_prefix":"14","de_passages":[{"locus":"GA 44/14/p002","url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/de/ga/44/14/p002"}],"bead_confidence":"medium","pairing_state":"verified","verified":true,"evidence":["length","meaning","anchors","audit"],"length_check":{"de_words":162,"en_words":189,"ratio":1.17,"partial":false},"correspondence":"established","note":"English passage numbering is edition-relative, so the same number need not name the same paragraph in the German.
