There is no better word to show this than a word that is not found in our Gospels, but has been handed down in another way. Jesus and his disciples passed by a dead dog that had already begun to decay. The disciples turned away. But Jesus looked at the animal with pleasure and admired its beautiful teeth. The parable may be paradoxical, but it leads us to a deeper understanding of the essence of Christ. It is a testimony that man feels the Word alive within himself when he does not pass by anything in the world without understanding, when he knows how to delve deeply and immerse himself in everything that is there, and cannot pass by even the seemingly disgusting without practicing tolerance and understanding; the understanding that allows us to see into the smallest things and lifts us up to the highest, the understanding for the gaze that hides nothing, that passes over nothing, that allows everything to come to it in perfect tolerance, that carries in its heart the conviction that truly everything that exists is “flesh of our flesh, blood of our blood” in some form: Those who have struggled their way to this understanding are the only ones who know and understand what it means: the living spirit of God was realized in a single person, the living spirit of God from which the whole world is made.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"IV. The publisher is inferred from the edition code in this lecture's source URL, not stated by the source page.
