In contrast, two facts should be pointed out. What is the basis of the first great and comprehensive effect of the Christian worldview, an effect that no one can deny? What is the basis of Paul's preaching? Is it based on what new, sober research reads from the Gospels? Never! Paul's power is not based on proclaiming what can be exhausted by historical means. The whole effectiveness of Paul is based on an event that can only be understood from supernatural, never from sensual causes. Anyone who examines the Pauline writings will see that Paul's entire teaching is based simply on his conviction and experience that Christ rose from the dead and that, in the mystery of Golgotha, the victory of life in the Spirit over death was achieved.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"The Bible and Wisdom II","site_heading":null,"date":"1908-11-14","location":null,"word_count":155,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/57/1908-11-14/p011","alignment_confidence":"high","alignment_reason":"beads:identity","two_voice_volume":false,"translation_credit":{"scope":"unit","status":"established","translator":"Steiner Online Library","identified_edition":"eLib2014","book_title":"Where and How Does One Find the Spirit?","publisher":null,"publisher_inferred":false,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA057/English/eLib2014/19081114p01.html","evidence":"lecture_page_line"},"edition_coverage":{"de":["original"],"en":["English"]},"available_versions":[{"lang":"de","edition":"original","edition_basis":null,"is_original":true,"is_default_edition":true,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/de/ga/57/1908-11-14/p011"},{"lang":"en","edition":"English","edition_basis":null,"is_original":false,"is_default_edition":true,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/57/1908-11-14/p011","paragraph_aligned":true}],"record":{"record_type":"unknown","scope":"volume","note":"How this text was taken down (shorthand transcript, listeners' notes or manuscript) is not on record here.
