In our ego we find a spark of this Yahweh deity, just as the same essence is found in the drop of water as in the sea. But it was a very long path that human development had to take, during which the Yahweh deity began to shape human beings so that they could grasp the ego with their consciousness. The power of the I had to work in man for a long time before man came to the consciousness of the I. Moses became the great forerunner in bringing man's consciousness to the I. But these forces have been working and forming human evolution for a long time before that. They form in such a way that we can recognize their way if we concern ourselves a little with the evolution of human consciousness itself.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"The Bible and Wisdom II","site_heading":null,"date":"1908-11-14","location":null,"word_count":168,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/57/1908-11-14/p020","alignment_confidence":"high","alignment_reason":"beads:identity","two_voice_volume":false,"translation_credit":{"scope":"unit","status":"established","translator":"Steiner Online Library","identified_edition":"eLib2014","book_title":"Where and How Does One Find the Spirit?","publisher":null,"publisher_inferred":false,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA057/English/eLib2014/19081114p01.html","evidence":"lecture_page_line"},"edition_coverage":{"de":["original"],"en":["English"]},"available_versions":[{"lang":"de","edition":"original","edition_basis":null,"is_original":true,"is_default_edition":true,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/de/ga/57/1908-11-14/p020"},{"lang":"en","edition":"English","edition_basis":null,"is_original":false,"is_default_edition":true,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/57/1908-11-14/p020","paragraph_aligned":true}],"record":{"record_type":"unknown","scope":"volume","note":"How this text was taken down (shorthand transcript, listeners' notes or manuscript) is not on record here.
