When we look at Christianity, it will be important for us to understand Moses' clairvoyance, which is presented to us in the dream image of the burning bush. That is what needed to be explained. One thing should be emphasized: that this new Spiritual Science will be able to form an image of world events from within itself, to see Christ spiritually, face to face, so to speak, and thus to find him again in a true way in the Gospels. Biblical research that says, “We want to study the Bible like any other history,” is not truly unprejudiced. For it presupposes the dogma that there can only be ordinary, sensual, natural factual connections. Only Spiritual Science is truly unprejudiced, and it leads to a renewed recognition and appreciation of the Bible in all its parts. A time will come when those who today claim that only the simple intellect can comprehend the Bible may be dismayed. Such wisdom must misunderstand the Bible. A time will come when the wisest wisdom will value most highly what is given to us in the Bible, because seers will recognize themselves in the seers of the Bible. Then many words written in the New Testament will appear in a new light. It will become apparent that a document such as the Bible cannot lose anything through unbiased research. It would be sad if any research could rob the Bible of its reputation, of its name. Research that robs the Bible of its name has simply not gone far enough. Research that goes to the end will restore the Bible to its greatness.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"The Bible and Wisdom II","site_heading":null,"date":"1908-11-14","location":null,"word_count":285,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/57/1908-11-14/p039","alignment_confidence":"high","alignment_reason":"beads:identity","two_voice_volume":false,"translation_credit":{"scope":"unit","status":"established","translator":"Steiner Online Library","identified_edition":"eLib2014","book_title":"Where and How Does One Find the Spirit?","publisher":null,"publisher_inferred":false,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA057/English/eLib2014/19081114p01.html","evidence":"lecture_page_line"},"edition_coverage":{"de":["original"],"en":["English"]},"available_versions":[{"lang":"de","edition":"original","edition_basis":null,"is_original":true,"is_default_edition":true,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/de/ga/57/1908-11-14/p039"},{"lang":"en","edition":"English","edition_basis":null,"is_original":false,"is_default_edition":true,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/57/1908-11-14/p039","paragraph_aligned":true}],"record":{"record_type":"unknown","scope":"volume","note":"How this text was taken down (shorthand transcript, listeners' notes or manuscript) is not on record here. Die Forschung, welche bis an das Ende geht, wird die Bibel wieder in ihrer Größe darstellen.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"word_count":293,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/de/ga/57/1908-11-14/p039"}],"english":["GA 57/1908-11-14/p039"],"method":"identity","confidence":"high","correspondence":"established","length_check":{"de_words":293,"en_words":285,"ratio":0.97,"partial":false},"pairing_state":"verified","verified":true,"evidence":["length","meaning","audit"]},"witness_completeness":{"ratio":1.02,"band":"comparable","note":null,"word_count":8142,"original_word_count":8014,"may_be_abridged":false},"witness_quality":{"translator":{"scope":"unit","status":"recorded","translator":"Steiner Online Library","identified_edition":"eLib2014","book_title":"Where and How Does One Find the Spirit?","publisher":null,"publisher_inferred":false,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA057/English/eLib2014/19081114p01.html","evidence":"lecture_page_line"},"entity_parity":{"status":"ok","checked_against":["GA 57/1908-11-14/p039"],"missing_from_translation":[],"present_only_in_translation":[],"bead_confidence":"high","note":"Every load-bearing name in the German counterpart appears in this English passage.
