Questions about health are related to everything that makes people fit for life, to everything that helps them fulfill their destiny in the world without hindrance. Seen in the right light, health is therefore something that most people strive for, just as they strive for external goods. But health is also to be regarded as an inner good, just as external goods are not sought by the healthy-minded person for their own sake, but as a means of work, as a means of his activity and creativity. We can therefore well explain why the urge, the longing to obtain enlightenment about the mysteries and questions of healthy and sick life are so profound, especially in our present time. However, the attitude that is likely to make people receptive to the answers they need in order to solve such questions, which are so intimately connected with the whole being of man, is not very widespread in general thinking.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"Questions Regarding Health in Light of Spiritual Science","site_heading":null,"date":"1909-01-14","location":null,"word_count":178,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/57/1909-01-14/p003","alignment_confidence":"medium","alignment_reason":"beads:structural_identity","two_voice_volume":false,"translation_credit":{"scope":"unit","status":"established","translator":"Steiner Online Library","identified_edition":"eLib2014","book_title":"Where and How Does One Find the Spirit?","publisher":null,"publisher_inferred":false,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA057/English/eLib2014/19090114p01.html","evidence":"lecture_page_line"},"edition_coverage":{"de":["original"],"en":["English"]},"available_versions":[{"lang":"de","edition":"original","edition_basis":null,"is_original":true,"is_default_edition":true,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/de/ga/57/1909-01-14/p003"},{"lang":"en","edition":"English","edition_basis":null,"is_original":false,"is_default_edition":true,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/57/1909-01-14/p003","paragraph_aligned":true}],"record":{"record_type":"unknown","scope":"volume","note":"How this text was taken down (shorthand transcript, listeners' notes or manuscript) is not on record here.
