We can understand that everyone would like to rush to their aid, for this is only an expression of the deepest interest that these questions arouse in connection with the whole of human nature. However, if we consider this deep interest on the one hand, but on the other hand take only a brief look at the various views on health and illness that prevail in our time, we may become quite saddened. One might say that illness is such an important thing in human life, so why is it that learned and unlearned people, doctors and laymen, argue not only about the remedies for individual illnesses, not only about the right ways to health, but even about the nature of illness in the most diverse theories? It sometimes seems that in our age of intellectual and scientific activity, sick and perhaps even healthy people are more than ever exposed to the partisan views that are asserted from all sides on important questions of human development and human nature.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"Questions Regarding Health in Light of Spiritual Science","site_heading":null,"date":"1909-01-14","location":null,"word_count":201,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/57/1909-01-14/p006","alignment_confidence":"medium","alignment_reason":"beads:structural_identity","two_voice_volume":false,"translation_credit":{"scope":"unit","status":"established","translator":"Steiner Online Library","identified_edition":"eLib2014","book_title":"Where and How Does One Find the Spirit?","publisher":null,"publisher_inferred":false,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA057/English/eLib2014/19090114p01.html","evidence":"lecture_page_line"},"edition_coverage":{"de":["original"],"en":["English"]},"available_versions":[{"lang":"de","edition":"original","edition_basis":null,"is_original":true,"is_default_edition":true,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/de/ga/57/1909-01-14/p006"},{"lang":"en","edition":"English","edition_basis":null,"is_original":false,"is_default_edition":true,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/57/1909-01-14/p006","paragraph_aligned":true}],"record":{"record_type":"unknown","scope":"volume","note":"How this text was taken down (shorthand transcript, listeners' notes or manuscript) is not on record here.
