It is easy to object that when someone is hungry, they cannot live on feelings and sensations. It is true that when someone is presented with a delicious meal, their mouth may water, but they cannot be satisfied if the real taste of the food remains hidden from them. This objection is easy to make. We cannot satisfy or heal someone through what we can give them in terms of influencing their soul in such a way that it allows sensations and mental images to flow in the right way; that goes without saying. But what is overlooked here is something else. We cannot regulate food by explaining the nutrients, but we can regulate taste, right down to the correct feeling of hunger. This is where what is fragmented today, because it is handled only from the point of view of external material considerations, flows into the spiritual-soul realm.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"Questions Regarding Health in Light of Spiritual Science","site_heading":null,"date":"1909-01-14","location":null,"word_count":177,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/57/1909-01-14/p028","alignment_confidence":"medium","alignment_reason":"beads:structural_identity","two_voice_volume":false,"translation_credit":{"scope":"unit","status":"established","translator":"Steiner Online Library","identified_edition":"eLib2014","book_title":"Where and How Does One Find the Spirit?","publisher":null,"publisher_inferred":false,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA057/English/eLib2014/19090114p01.html","evidence":"lecture_page_line"},"edition_coverage":{"de":["original"],"en":["English"]},"available_versions":[{"lang":"de","edition":"original","edition_basis":null,"is_original":true,"is_default_edition":true,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/de/ga/57/1909-01-14/p028"},{"lang":"en","edition":"English","edition_basis":null,"is_original":false,"is_default_edition":true,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/57/1909-01-14/p028","paragraph_aligned":true}],"record":{"record_type":"unknown","scope":"volume","note":"How this text was taken down (shorthand transcript, listeners' notes or manuscript) is not on record here.
