The human being shares the physical body with all minerals, the etheric body with all plants, and the astral body with animals. Through the I, he rises above the three natural kingdoms. That is why all religions have focused their attention on the fact that in languages, in the German language for example, there is only one name that differs from all others. There is one thing that can never be named from outside: that is what is within us as our innermost being. No name can reach us from outside if it means us ourselves. That is why in the ancient Hebrew religion the “I” was the unpronounceable name that was unpronounceable for all others.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"The Invisible Elements of Human Nature and Practical Life","site_heading":null,"date":"1909-02-18","location":null,"word_count":134,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/57/1909-02-18/p008","alignment_confidence":"medium","alignment_reason":"beads:structural_identity","two_voice_volume":false,"translation_credit":{"scope":"unit","status":"established","translator":"Steiner Online Library","identified_edition":"eLib2014","book_title":"Where and How Does One Find the Spirit?","publisher":null,"publisher_inferred":false,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA057/English/eLib2014/19090218p01.html","evidence":"lecture_page_line"},"edition_coverage":{"de":["original"],"en":["English"]},"available_versions":[{"lang":"de","edition":"original","edition_basis":null,"is_original":true,"is_default_edition":true,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/de/ga/57/1909-02-18/p008"},{"lang":"en","edition":"English","edition_basis":null,"is_original":false,"is_default_edition":true,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/57/1909-02-18/p008","paragraph_aligned":true}],"record":{"record_type":"unknown","scope":"volume","note":"How this text was taken down (shorthand transcript, listeners' notes or manuscript) is not on record here. Eines gibt es, was nie von außen genannt werden kann: das ist das, was in uns als unser Innerstes ist. Kein Name kann von außen an uns herandringen, wenn er uns selber bedeutet.
