The whole marvelous structure of the human body is constructed in a wonderful way. Through everything he does, man adapts his hand to the outside world. This interaction of the hand with the outside world detaches itself from him in a certain way if he is unable to permeate his hand with his inner life. It is a similar process to having artificial teeth fitted. The essential thing is that we have infused and energized everything we can preserve as our own with our ego. You only get shaky hands when, to a certain extent, your hands detach themselves from the rest of your body. These are things that will be taken into account again in the not-too-distant future, and then people will understand what it means to grasp the human being in his spirit again.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"The Invisible Elements of Human Nature and Practical Life","site_heading":null,"date":"1909-02-18","location":null,"word_count":148,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/57/1909-02-18/p012","alignment_confidence":"medium","alignment_reason":"beads:structural_identity","two_voice_volume":false,"translation_credit":{"scope":"unit","status":"established","translator":"Steiner Online Library","identified_edition":"eLib2014","book_title":"Where and How Does One Find the Spirit?","publisher":null,"publisher_inferred":false,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA057/English/eLib2014/19090218p01.html","evidence":"lecture_page_line"},"edition_coverage":{"de":["original"],"en":["English"]},"available_versions":[{"lang":"de","edition":"original","edition_basis":null,"is_original":true,"is_default_edition":true,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/de/ga/57/1909-02-18/p012"},{"lang":"en","edition":"English","edition_basis":null,"is_original":false,"is_default_edition":true,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/57/1909-02-18/p012","paragraph_aligned":true}],"record":{"record_type":"unknown","scope":"volume","note":"How this text was taken down (shorthand transcript, listeners' notes or manuscript) is not on record here.
