Therefore, when such things are expertly extracted from spiritual science, no instruction is given on “How to acquire the powers to train the will in the everyday world,” but rather instructions are given on “How to gain knowledge of the higher worlds.” Where such instructions are given, very careful attention is paid to such designations. These things, as described in my book “How to Gain Knowledge of Higher Worlds,” also lead to a culture of the will, but not directly, rather indirectly, in that those who strive for this development in the higher worlds now wait to see what comes next. The development of the will must then come of its own accord, then it will work in the right sense and take healthy paths.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"Self-education in the Light of Spiritual Science","site_heading":null,"date":"1912-03-14","location":null,"word_count":161,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/61/1912-03-14/p018","alignment_confidence":"high","alignment_reason":"beads:identity","two_voice_volume":false,"translation_credit":{"scope":"unit","status":"established","translator":"Steiner Online Library","identified_edition":"eLib2016","book_title":"Human History in the Light of Spiritual Investigation","publisher":null,"publisher_inferred":false,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA061/English/eLib2016/19120314p01.html","evidence":"lecture_page_line"},"edition_coverage":{"de":["original"],"en":["English"]},"available_versions":[{"lang":"de","edition":"original","edition_basis":null,"is_original":true,"is_default_edition":true,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/de/ga/61/1912-03-14/p018"},{"lang":"en","edition":"English","edition_basis":null,"is_original":false,"is_default_edition":true,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/61/1912-03-14/p018","paragraph_aligned":true}],"record":{"record_type":"unknown","scope":"volume","note":"How this text was taken down (shorthand transcript, listeners' notes or manuscript) is not on record here.
