This is a very reckless approach. For example, a respected theologian claims that a Petersburg scholar — who, incidentally, does not even have a Christian background — has presented irrefutable evidence that Jesus did not exist. The latter, although now 90 years old and blind, felt compelled to write a small paper to explain that he had asserted the exact opposite of what the aforementioned theologian had attributed to him. But who has read the small paper? The newspapers have not mentioned this contradiction, but the false assertions of the theologian have been in all the newspapers. That is how conscientiously one approaches such matters today; there is not much conscience left in our public writing. Drews's manner could have been used for centuries; it is not about evidence, but about sensations and feelings.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"56. Die Drews’sche Manier hätte man schon seit Jahrhunderten haben können; es handelt sich da gar nicht um Beweise, sondern um Empfindungen und Gefühle.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"word_count":162,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/de/ga/68a/1910-11-29/p017"}],"english":["GA 68a/1910-11-29/p017"],"method":"identity","confidence":"high","correspondence":"established","length_check":{"de_words":162,"en_words":148,"ratio":0.91,"partial":false},"pairing_state":"verified","verified":true,"evidence":["length","meaning","anchors","audit"]},"witness_completeness":{"ratio":1.03,"band":"comparable","note":null,"word_count":1718,"original_word_count":1664,"may_be_abridged":false},"witness_quality":{"translator":{"scope":"unit","status":"recorded","translator":"Steiner Online Library","identified_edition":"SOL2024","book_title":"The Essence of Christianity","publisher":"Steiner Online Library","publisher_inferred":true,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA068a/English/SOL2024/19101129p01.html","evidence":"lecture_page_line","publisher_note":"The publisher is inferred from the edition code in this lecture's source URL, not stated by the source page.
