They must be elevated to a symbol. In this way, the human being achieves that the spiritual-mental is lifted out of the physical-corporal, like hydrogen out of water. I then no longer imagine in my body, but in the spiritual. Then you know what it means to think outside of your brain. It is a feeling of yourself outside of the body, initially outside of the brain. You then feel your body like an external object. Ordinary thinking is robust and wears out the brain; but usually you do not pay attention to it. Re-immersing yourself in the physical brain brings a certain fear. By applying inner forces, the spiritual-mental can be separated from the physical-bodily. The act of separating from the body becomes an inner play of expression, a facial expression. Something active, something energetic is the separated part. This inner play of expression has a meaning; otherwise it only shows hints when one makes a face.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"XII. Man weiß dann, was es heißt, außer seinem Gehirn denken. Dieses innere Mienenspiel hat eine Bedeutung; es zeigt sich sonst nur andeutungsweise, wenn man eine Miene macht.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"word_count":156,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/de/ga/69e/1913-11-08/p005"}],"english":["GA 69e/1913-11-08/p005"],"method":"identity","confidence":"high","correspondence":"established","length_check":{"de_words":156,"en_words":169,"ratio":1.08,"partial":false},"pairing_state":"verified","verified":true,"evidence":["length","meaning","audit"]},"witness_completeness":{"ratio":1.05,"band":"comparable","note":null,"word_count":3286,"original_word_count":3139,"may_be_abridged":false},"witness_quality":{"translator":{"scope":"unit","status":"recorded","translator":"Steiner Online Library","identified_edition":"SOL2024","book_title":"Spiritual Science and the Future of Humanity","publisher":"Steiner Online Library","publisher_inferred":true,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA069e/English/SOL2024/19131108p01.html","evidence":"lecture_page_line","publisher_note":"The publisher is inferred from the edition code in this lecture's source URL, not stated by the source page.
