How does something like the Kant-Laplace theory develop? It has been calculated how the beings on earth change over time. So one can calculate how they were formed 1000, 2000, millions of years ago, the beings of the earth. This gives us a calculated idea, a truly correctly calculated idea, of what the earth was like millions of years ago. It is as if we calculated from the change of the heart, the stomach, how these changes, [these organs] were two, six, ten years ago, and then draw a conclusion as to how these changes brought about a condition 200 years ago. This is just as scientific as the Kant-Laplace theory. Or the so-called geological changes of the earth can be calculated in this way. You can find out what the human body was like 300 years ago, according to the observed changes, only the person in question had not yet lived. The same mistake is made when developing the Kant-Laplace theory, when geological hypotheses are formulated that are common practice today. One comes back to the state that can be calculated - only the earth did not yet exist at that time, but it went from a spiritual state into the present state much later.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"Revelations of the Unconscious in the Life of the Soul from the Spiritual Scientific Point of View","site_heading":null,"date":"1918-02-12","location":null,"word_count":223,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/71b/1918-02-12/p083","alignment_confidence":"high","alignment_reason":"beads:identity","two_voice_volume":false,"translation_credit":{"scope":"unit","status":"established","translator":"Steiner Online Library","identified_edition":"SOL2024","book_title":"The Human Being as a Spirit and Soul Being","publisher":"Steiner Online Library","publisher_inferred":true,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA071b/English/SOL2024/19180212p01.html","evidence":"lecture_page_line","publisher_note":"The publisher is inferred from the edition code in this lecture's source URL, not stated by the source page. Man kommt zurück zu dem Zustand, der sich errechnen lässt - nur hat die Erde dazumal noch nicht bestanden, sondern sie ging viel später aus einem geistigen Zustande in den jetzigen Zustand hinein.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"word_count":221,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/de/ga/71b/1918-02-12/p083"}],"english":["GA 71b/1918-02-12/p083"],"method":"identity","confidence":"high","correspondence":"established","length_check":{"de_words":221,"en_words":223,"ratio":1.01,"partial":false},"pairing_state":"verified","verified":true,"evidence":["length","meaning","anchors","audit"]},"witness_completeness":{"ratio":1.04,"band":"comparable","note":null,"word_count":11846,"original_word_count":11427,"may_be_abridged":false},"witness_quality":{"translator":{"scope":"unit","status":"recorded","translator":"Steiner Online Library","identified_edition":"SOL2024","book_title":"The Human Being as a Spirit and Soul Being","publisher":"Steiner Online Library","publisher_inferred":true,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA071b/English/SOL2024/19180212p01.html","evidence":"lecture_page_line","publisher_note":"The publisher is inferred from the edition code in this lecture's source URL, not stated by the source page.
