If self-knowledge is to occur at all in the human being, nothing else is possible than for the human being himself, not another, to step out of the human existence in which he usually dwells and to learn to look at himself from the outside. In saying this, however, something is expressed that is actually a scientific abomination in the widespread contemporary world view, but it will most certainly become established in human thinking, just as the Copernican world view has become established. It is only unfamiliar today, which, as in the past, should come to our minds today. That man can step out of his self, so to speak, can face himself in reality, seems to most people today an absurd thought.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"The Supernatural Man and the Questions of Free Will and Immortality Based on the Results of Spiritual Science","site_heading":null,"date":"1918-05-01","location":null,"word_count":150,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/71b/1918-05-01/p009","alignment_confidence":"high","alignment_reason":"beads:identity","two_voice_volume":false,"translation_credit":{"scope":"unit","status":"established","translator":"Steiner Online Library","identified_edition":"SOL2024","book_title":"The Human Being as a Spirit and Soul Being","publisher":"Steiner Online Library","publisher_inferred":true,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA071b/English/SOL2024/19180501p01.html","evidence":"lecture_page_line","publisher_note":"The publisher is inferred from the edition code in this lecture's source URL, not stated by the source page. Dass der Mensch heraustreten könne aus seinem Selbst, sich gewissermaßen selber real gegenübertreten könne, das erscheint heute den meisten Menschen als ein absurder Gedanke.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"word_count":141,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/de/ga/71b/1918-05-01/p009"}],"english":["GA 71b/1918-05-01/p009"],"method":"identity","confidence":"high","correspondence":"established","length_check":{"de_words":141,"en_words":150,"ratio":1.06,"partial":false},"pairing_state":"verified","verified":true,"evidence":["length","meaning","audit"]},"witness_completeness":{"ratio":1.03,"band":"comparable","note":null,"word_count":8631,"original_word_count":8382,"may_be_abridged":false},"witness_quality":{"translator":{"scope":"unit","status":"recorded","translator":"Steiner Online Library","identified_edition":"SOL2024","book_title":"The Human Being as a Spirit and Soul Being","publisher":"Steiner Online Library","publisher_inferred":true,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA071b/English/SOL2024/19180501p01.html","evidence":"lecture_page_line","publisher_note":"The publisher is inferred from the edition code in this lecture's source URL, not stated by the source page.
