As I said, this area is especially characteristic because, on the one hand, it shows this discrepancy and, on the other hand, it shows how far removed today's ordinary view of science is from what spiritual science, as it is meant here, wants to be and how spiritual science wants to fertilize the individual specialized sciences. I am referring to the field of optics, in particular the field of color theory. Today, of course, anyone who points out the question of whether Goethe's theory of colors is justified or the theory of colors that is recognized by physics today is immediately dismissed as a scientific dilettante. Now, the essential thing about this matter is that Goethe never wanted to do any scientific research without placing the human being in the whole structure of the world. He does not want to do a scientific investigation separate from the human being; he therefore also brings all experimentation with colors to the human being itself.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"12. Er will nicht eine vom Menschen abgesonderte wissenschaftliche Untersuchung machen; er rückt daher auch alles Experimentieren mit den Farben an den Menschen selber heran.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"word_count":194,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/de/ga/73a/1921-01-12/p008"}],"english":["GA 73a/1921-01-12/p008"],"method":"identity","confidence":"high","correspondence":"established","length_check":{"de_words":194,"en_words":209,"ratio":1.08,"partial":false},"pairing_state":"verified","verified":true,"evidence":["length","meaning","audit"]},"witness_completeness":{"ratio":1.05,"band":"comparable","note":null,"word_count":7170,"original_word_count":6799,"may_be_abridged":false},"witness_quality":{"translator":{"scope":"unit","status":"recorded","translator":"Steiner Online Library","identified_edition":"SOL2024","book_title":"Scientific Disciplines and Anthroposophy","publisher":"Steiner Online Library","publisher_inferred":true,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA073a/English/SOL2024/19210112p01.html","evidence":"lecture_page_line","publisher_note":"The publisher is inferred from the edition code in this lecture's source URL, not stated by the source page.
