Formed out of the general nothingness, the Gnostic imagines the beginning of the world. Two great world lights then appear: [the Father and the Son; the eternal world spirit and the image of the eternal world spirit]. The All-Mother then appears as the third. The All-Mother is the material principle, and here the non-existence of matter triumphs. The Gnostics imagined matter as something that must be overcome. The highest of these is the Father with the Son. These divine entities work to recognize themselves in order to become life. This is what the development of the world means, what the actual becoming is.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"21.
