Record: listeners' notes. Written from listeners' notes, summaries, or memory rather than a shorthand transcript. The wording is the note-taker's as much as Steiner's: weigh a single striking phrase here far more cautiously than the same phrase in a stenographic volume, and do not rest an argument on one word. Evidence: «Frühe Vortragsreihen und Einzelvorträge für Mitglieder in Berlin 1905–1906 nach ausführlichen und z.T. fragmentarischen Mitschriften.» (Early lecture series and single lectures for members in Berlin 1905-1906, from detailed and in part fragmentary listeners' transcripts.). The publisher's description of the volume, as mirrored on AnthroWiki (GA 90b); the description calls them "Hörermitschriften", and the served text carries the note-taker's gap marker "[Lücke in der Mitschrift]". The translation is the maintainer's, not a published one.
Man will be in a similar state again when he has gone through the plastic state. On the plastic globe, passions and feelings express themselves extremely vividly, while here [on the intellectual globe] in the higher state, everything is expressed in tones. This sound world in which the person will live will be quite different from the sound world of the descending line of the Rupa globe. When the clairvoyant moves within this globe and perceives the entire sound world, he perceives something similar to what you hear when you are sitting in a hall in which a symphony is being played, but it is purely spiritual and is not heard with physical ears. While you perceive something like a symphony descending [on the rupa globe], you perceive words ascending [on the intellectual globe], an articulated sound world with the expression of the world of thoughts and ideas living in man.
