Record: listeners' notes. This text is a newspaper's or a listener's report of the lecture, not a transcript. The wording is the reporter's: do not quote it as Steiner's own words. Evidence: «Notes from Mathilde Scholl 1904–1906». The unit's own header line in the edition served.

The Ten Commandments are the law written on tablets of stone; the commandment that includes all others is the one brought by Christ, the commandment of love. The commandments that govern man in his newly acquired independence are the Ten Commandments of Jehovah, which relate to Kama-Manas. Christ gave the commandment of love, which encompasses and abolishes all others. The law of love is on the periphery and encompasses all the others, containing them within itself.
