The battle between spiritual forces and materialism is a reflection of the battle between the hosts of Beelzebub and Mammon against Michael. This battle first had to be fought on higher planes; it was decided there thirty years ago in favor of Michael, and the current battle here on the physical plane is a reflection of that. The battle has been decided above, but for the individual human being the battle is not yet over. If the people of today are not up to the task, we must all perish and new people must come. This shows the way, the place where the individual human being must enter today.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"word_count":117,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/92/1904-06-24/p017","witness_quality":{"translator":{"scope":"unit","status":"recorded","translator":"Steiner Online Library","identified_edition":"SOL2024","book_title":"The Occult Truths of Old Myths and Legends","publisher":"Steiner Online Library","publisher_inferred":true,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA092/English/SOL2024/19040624p01.html","evidence":"lecture_page_line","publisher_note":"The publisher is inferred from the edition code in this lecture's source URL, not stated by the source page.
