When at the beginning of our evolution Lucifer fell from the ranks of those Spirits who guide humanity, a precious stone dropped from his crown. This stone was the cup from which Christ Jesus drank with His disciples at the Last Supper and in which the Blood flowing on Golgotha was received. The cup passed to Joseph of Arimathea who brought it to the West. After many wanderings it came into the hands of Titurel through whom the Citadel of the Grail was founded. The cup was guarded by the “holy love-lance,” and the legend says that all who looked upon it took something of the Eternal into themselves.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"Richard Wagner and Mysticism","site_heading":null,"date":"1907-12-02","location":null,"word_count":128,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/92/1907-12-02/p039","alignment_confidence":"medium","alignment_reason":"beads:length","two_voice_volume":false,"translation_credit":{"scope":"unit","status":"not_established","translator":null,"identified_edition":"Singles","book_title":"Richard Wagner and Mysticism","publisher":null,"publisher_inferred":false,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA092/English/Singles/19071202p01.html","evidence":null,"reason":"source_says_translator_unknown","note":"The source page itself says the translator is unknown. Nach vielen Wanderungen kam die Schale in die Hände Titurels, durch den die Gralsburg gegründet worden ist. Er hat sie aufbewahrt, zusammen mit der heiligen Liebeslanze.
