This passage is not Rudolf Steiner — the editor. This passage is an editor's footnote or endnote ([^n]: marker), NOT lecture text. Any Steiner words inside it are the editor's report of a variant or shorthand and must not be quoted as the lecture.
Record: unknown. How this text was taken down (shorthand transcript, listeners' notes or manuscript) is not on record here. Unknown is not an assurance of a stenogram: check the edition's own notes before resting an argument on one word.
[^19]: First Epistle of John, v. 7. Rudolf Steiner had already explained this passage from the Epistle in detail in his lecture on 29th April 1904. According to that, the present-day materialistic concepts of blood and water must not be applied here. When it is said: ‘There are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.’
