It is extremely interesting to observe these beings returning to earth clairvoyantly. The clairvoyant perceives bell-shaped structures that shoot off in all directions at incredible speed in the astral plane. These formations are created when a person returning from Devachan surrounds themselves with new astral matter. This is a gathering of astral matter around the core of the human being, which could be compared to the following: Imagine a box containing iron filings with a magnet underneath. The filings arrange themselves according to the lines of force of the magnet. Like the magnet, the human being returning from Devachan attracts astral matter from various directions of the astral plane, and this matter arranges itself according to the nature of the human being. This state of scattering before a new incarnation lasts only a short time, usually measured in hours. The bell shape is the general form, in which all color nuances are found. In this state, the human being consists of the I and the causal body and now forms a new astral body from the astral matter, which corresponds exactly to what the human being has developed in the devachan. With astral matter, it is as if it attaches itself all by itself. With etheric matter, it is different. There are beings that initially have nothing to do with the individuality of the human being. They help in the formation of the etheric body. They are called Mahadevas. They also have a certain significance for human beings in other respects. Human beings are not as much the rulers of their physical bodies as they believe. Other beings also dwell and are active in their three bodies. Only in their fourth limb, the I, are human beings completely at home. The Mahadevas also belong to such beings that live in human beings; they influence the etheric body and are able to give human beings the right etheric body. Other beings then guide them to the parents who, according to hereditary conditions, best suit the abilities and characteristics of the reincarnating human being in terms of the family and the physical human germ. Only in the rarest of cases does the newly incarnated human being fit completely into their new physical body, which often leads to many inner conflicts. In our present time, it is only ever possible to find a physical body that is approximately suitable. The moment a suitable place of incarnation is found, the Lipikas, elemental beings, guide the human being to a suitable family, and only at the moment of fertilization does the astral body become clothed with the etheric body. Just as the Mahadevas are related to the etheric body, the Lipikas are related to the physical body. All these processes usually take only a few moments. In the first weeks after conception, only the causal body is active and effective in the human germ. Bei ihnen nimmt der Hellseher glokkenförmige Gebilde wahr, die mit unglaublicher Schnelligkeit im Astralplan dahinschießen nach allen Seiten. Diese Gebilde sind dadurch entstanden, daß ein aus dem Devachan zurückkehrender Mensch sich mit neuer Astralmaterie umgibt. Es handelt sich um ein Anschießen der Astralmaterie um den Wesenskern des Menschen, das man mit folgendem vergleichen könnte: In einem Kasten seien Eisenfeilspäne, und darunter befindlich ein Magnet. Diese Späne ordnen sich nach den Kraftlinien des Magneten. Wie der Magnet zieht der aus dem Devachan zurückkehrende Mensch aus den verschiedensten Richtungen des Astralplanes die Astralmaterie an, und diese ordnet sich, wie es seinem Wesen gemäß ist, an. Dieser Zustand des Herumschießens vor einer neuen Verkörperung dauert nur eine kurze Zeit, die sich meistens nach Stunden bemißt. Die Glockenform ist die allgemeine, darinnen finden sich alle Farbennuancen. Bei der Astralmaterie ist es so, als ob sie ganz von selbst anschieße und sich angliedere. Bei der Äthermaterie ist es anders. Da gibt es Wesenheiten, die zunächst mit der Individualität des Menschen nichts zu tun haben. Sie helfen bei der Bildung des Ätherleibes. Man nennt sie Mahadevas. Sie haben auch sonst eine gewisse Bedeutung bei den Menschen. Der Mensch ist nicht so sehr Herrscher seiner Leiblichkeit, wie er glaubt. In seinen drei Leibern wohnen auch noch andere Wesenheiten wirksam darin. Nur in seinem vierten Glied, im Ich, ist der Mensch ganz allein zu Hause. Zu solchen Wesenheiten, die im Menschen leben, gehören auch die Mahadevas, sie haben Einfluß auf den Ätherleib und vermögen dem Menschen den richtigen Ätherleib zu geben. Von anderen Wesenheiten wird er sodann zu dem Elternpaar geleitet, nach den Vererbungsverhältnissen zu derjenigen Familie und dem physischen Menschenkeim, die zu den Fähigkeiten und Eigenschaften des sich wiederverkörpernden Menschen am besten passen. Nur in den seltensten Fällen fügt sich der neu verkörperte Mensch gänzlich in seinen neuen physischen Leib ein, wodurch oft viele innere Zwiespälte entstehen. Es kann immer nur ein annähernd passender physischer Leib gefunden werden in unserer gegenwärtigen Zeit. In dem Augenblick, wo der geeignete Ort der Verkörperung gefunden ist, leiten die Lipikas, elementarische Wesenheiten, den Menschen zu einer geeigneten Familie hin, und erst im Augenblick der Befruchtung geschieht die Umkleidung des Astralleibes mit dem Ätherleib. Wie die Mahadevas in Beziehung stehen zum Ätherleib, stehen die Lipikas in Beziehung zum physischen Leib. Alle diese Vorgänge dauern für gewöhnlich nur Augenblicke. In den ersten Wochen nach der Empfängnis ist im Menschenkeim nur der Kausalleib tätig und wirksam.
