On the contrary, he also works on the rest of the world. The fact that the human being repeatedly moves on to new incarnations is not meaningless and purposeless, for each time the earth has changed significantly. Only when they can learn something new do they return to Earth. What happens on the physical plane has its origin in the spiritual worlds. Who created the city of Leipzig with its culture, its houses, streets, and so on? The human spirit did. Who brought about the changes in the flora of Central Europe over the last thousand years? This originated from spiritual beings. The material world is simply the outer expression of purely spiritual processes. The threads spin down to us from the Devachan plane. The plant world does not develop on its own; it is guided from Devachan by Devachanic beings. And the animal kingdom? Just as the stones of houses do not lay themselves down, so the animal world does not change on its own. Everything that changes within the animal world is done from the astral plane, at least as far as warm-blooded animals are concerned. Natural science attributes the changes in the animal world to adaptation to external living conditions. But it is a makeshift solution to use the word adaptation, because it is the work of spiritual beings. Outer science can never discover the true causes of these changes; only spiritual science can do that. There are beings who are involved in the transformation of the plant and animal world on our earth. Human beings also work on this while they are in Kamaloka and Devachan. Nothing happens by “miracle”; everything is determined by lawful forces. Just as the human spirit has gradually shaped the physical plane from small tents and huts to communities and states, so too does it help shape the fauna and flora that surround us in Devachan. We have prepared the nest into which we are born. In Kamaloka, however, humans work on the various animal species.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"Lecture VIII","site_heading":"Karma, Heredity, and the Evolution of Human Bodies","site_heading_note":"A heading the site wrote for this unit from a summary of it; not in the edition, and not the words of Rudolf Steiner or of the translator. Im Kamaloka allerdings arbeitet der Mensch an den verschiedenen Tierarten.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"word_count":348,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/de/ga/94/1906-07-05/p010"}],"english":["GA 94/1906-07-05/p010"],"method":"identity","confidence":"high","correspondence":"established","length_check":{"de_words":348,"en_words":355,"ratio":1.02,"partial":false},"pairing_state":"verified","verified":true,"evidence":["length","meaning","anchors","audit"]},"witness_completeness":{"ratio":1.06,"band":"comparable","note":null,"word_count":1454,"original_word_count":1369,"may_be_abridged":false},"witness_quality":{"translator":{"scope":"unit","status":"recorded","translator":"Steiner Online Library","identified_edition":"SOL2023","book_title":"Popular Occultism","publisher":"Steiner Online Library","publisher_inferred":true,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA094/English/SOL2023/19060705p01.html","evidence":"lecture_page_line","publisher_note":"The publisher is inferred from the edition code in this lecture's source URL, not stated by the source page.
