The blood of such neighboring communities was influenced by the lower parts of the nervous system. This gave man clairvoyance and the intuitive distinction between good and evil; he had a sure moral instinct. The moment man steps out of nearness, it becomes impossible for him to delve into clairvoyance from within, from the sympathetic nervous system. With remoteness, instinctive guidance ceases and the external law begins. The original moral instinct disappeared with remoteness; the external law had to enter. Out of the night of the old instinct there dawned a moral guiding star. Then came the Mosaic Law religion as the custodian of morality. This will finally be replaced by a new light, the Christ-light, the spiritual guidance.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"Third Lecture","site_heading":"Root Races, Christ, and Human Spiritual Evolution","site_heading_note":"A heading the site wrote for this unit from a summary of it; not in the edition, and not the words of Rudolf Steiner or of the translator. Diese wird endlich abgelöst durch ein neues Licht, das Christus-Licht, die spirituelle Führung.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"word_count":141,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/de/ga/94/1906-10-31/p019"}],"english":["GA 94/1906-10-31/p019"],"method":"identity","confidence":"high","correspondence":"established","length_check":{"de_words":141,"en_words":134,"ratio":0.95,"partial":false},"pairing_state":"verified","verified":true,"evidence":["length","meaning","audit"]},"witness_completeness":{"ratio":1.11,"band":"comparable","note":null,"word_count":2901,"original_word_count":2609,"may_be_abridged":false},"witness_quality":{"translator":{"scope":"unit","status":"recorded","translator":"Steiner Online Library","identified_edition":"SOL2024","book_title":"Theosophy Based on the Gospel of John","publisher":"Steiner Online Library","publisher_inferred":true,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA094/English/SOL2024/19061031p01.html","evidence":"lecture_page_line","publisher_note":"The publisher is inferred from the edition code in this lecture's source URL, not stated by the source page.
