They may also base themselves on modern science, which is also based on observations made through the senses and rational thinking. We have shown that it is possible to meet all objections to the science of the spirit that may arise from the present-day scientific approach. Please do not misunderstand the reasons for considering the subject in this way. It was not done so that we might go out and enter into discussion with people who have not yet given a thought to the science of the spirit. There can be no question of this. Anyone who has not yet a mind to consider it and also is not inclined to do so will first of all have to learn to put his mind to it. It is not a question, therefore, of having arguments available for use in discussions, but everyone may in his own heart and mind raise objections that may come up in the light of modern popular science or modern life in general. You need to be reasonably sure of yourself. This, then, has been the purpose of the things we considered the last time.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"VI. Das war Ziel und Zweck unserer vorigen Betrachtungen.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"word_count":198,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/de/ga/96/1906-10-08/p004"}],"english":["GA 96/1906-10-08/p003"],"method":"length","confidence":"high","correspondence":"established","length_check":{"de_words":198,"en_words":238,"ratio":1.2,"partial":false},"pairing_state":"proposed","verified":false},"witness_completeness":{"ratio":1.15,"band":"comparable","note":null,"word_count":6420,"original_word_count":5599,"may_be_abridged":false},"witness_quality":{"translator":{"scope":"unit","status":"recorded","translator":"Anna Meuss","identified_edition":"CMP2001","book_title":"Original Impulses fo the Science of the Spirit","publisher":null,"publisher_inferred":false,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA096/English/CMP2001/19061008p01.html","evidence":"lecture_page_line"},"entity_parity":{"status":"ok","checked_against":["GA 96/1906-10-08/p004"],"missing_from_translation":[],"present_only_in_translation":[],"bead_confidence":"high","note":"Every load-bearing name in the German counterpart appears in this English passage.
