VI. The Mystery of Golgotha
> In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was a god. > This was with God in the beginning. > All that exists has come into being through it, and nothing that has come into existence has done so except through it. In it was life, and life was the light of mankind. And the light shone into the darkness, but the darkness did not comprehend it. > There came to be a man, sent by God, and his name was John. He came to witness, that he bear witness of the light, that all might believe through him. > He was not the light, but a witness of the light. > For the true light, that illumines all men, was to come into the world. > It was in the world, and the world came into being through it, but the world did not know it. > It came into individual human beings (it came to the I-people); but the individual human beings (the I-people) did not receive it. > Those who did receive it were able through this to reveal themselves to be children of God. > Those who believed in his name were born not of the blood, nor the will of the flesh, nor the human will, but were born of God. > And the word has become flesh and dwelt among us and we have heard his teaching of the son at one with the father, full of devotion and truth.
