Fritz Thyssen (1873-1951)

German steel magnate; one of Hitler's earliest major industrial backers (from 1923); collaborated with Averell Harriman's W.A. Harriman & Company of New York 1924-1939. Wrote I Paid Hitler (1941) naming the network specifically. Broke with Hitler 1939; arrested 1940; survived Nazi camps. Per Sutton WSRH Ch 25-26: the most fully documented German-industrial-Wall-Street-connected NSDAP funder. Died February 8, 1951. (Claim SUT-WSRH-002.)
